A while back I started doing videos along with the audio versions of my podcast, Lehto’s Law . One of this videos just hit 100,000 views, which is pretty cool.
Lehto’s Law was originally a radio show I did in Flint, Michigan, for many years. I revived it as a podcast a couple years ago and then added the video component to it a little over a year ago.
And
!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
which got traction was about the perils of buying an RV. So, I did a podcast and video about RVs:
Don’t Buy An RV!
It was inspired by all the phone calls I get from consumers who have bought them. And what they learned afterward - everything from poor build quality to having few (if any legal rights).
Of course, the title is tongue in cheek. I say that you can buy one if you want to - but you really should educate yourself first.
So, if you haven’t seen it you can !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .
And if you have, Thanks. You are truly one in a million. Or at least 1 in 100,000.

Steve Lehto has been practicing law for 24 years, almost exclusively in consumer protection and !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! He wrote !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! and !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .
This website may supply general information about the law but it is for informational purposes only. This does not create an attorney-client relationship and is not meant to constitute legal advice, so the good news is we’re not billing you by the hour for reading this. The bad news is that you shouldn’t act upon any of the information without consulting a qualified professional attorney who will, probably, bill you by the hour.

Big fan, listened to every episode. Not really into legal stuff but you make it fun and I now feel like a better informed consumer.

My dad is a huge fan of the show. I think he’s watched every episode so far.

1/2 credit for writing that here. (I complained that no one ever called my office to tell me that).
Thanks!

Cool.
Thanks for the note.

Funny I should see this as I’m looking at getting an RV. I’ll have to watch this during lunch.

Congrats! That is awesome. I’m about to venture down the route of what is known as the YouTube’s, should be a good time. Maybe? ha

It’s interesting. I have done a ton of radio so I am familiar with some aspects of doing this but the video (i.e., People can see me!) aspect of it was a learning curve. I shot the first ones using a GoPro (it can be done) but I am using a Nikon DSLR now. Still playing with the lighting (I redid my “set” this past episode) and a few other minor points.
I still have a long way to go but I know I’ve come a long way too.

You’re doing great. I’m a big fan. As long as you’re enjoying what you’re doing I don’t think you can ever lose.
I’ll probably end up getting a Canon DSLR upgrading from my powershot (due to no mic input)

Thanks. And the offboard mic is key. The ones on the cameras do not record worthwhile sound for these purposes.

Congrats! I listen to your podcast regularly, you have some highly entertaining anecdotes.

Thanks. The funny part is that I do not use a script and I often remember anecdotes during the recording which I had not thought about before I started.

I started listening to your podcasts last week. I’ve already listened to 15 or so of them. They are interesting and entertaining, keep it up.

Steve,
I really like all of your content and stories. Keep em coming. I also really respect you doing so much. You’ve got books, podcasts, articles, and videos....oh and you somehow find time to practice law too!

And, I rarely mention it here, but I am training for a marathon (this year’s will be my 14th overall). The training also consumes a bit of time. But I like to stay busy!

Wow! That actually makes a lot more sense; when you have physical fitness as a part of your daily routine you tend to accomplish a lot more during the day, even though it takes up some time.

That’s very true. It helps me stay awake!

I always thought it was Lett-oh. I’ve been pronouncing it wrong all along.
So does this primarily apply to the giant ass class A RVs? Because I’m not interested in those at all. I want something on a van chassis like a class B or just an airstream trailer and a hauling vehicle of my choosing for the reasons you covered in your video.
Also, could I just go to a forum for owners of a specific brand? I’m not good at the whole extrovert thing irl.

Mate it makes me want to build one.
![]() 07/08/2016 at 13:18 |

That IS correct if you can pronounce the H. I gave up a long time ago.
It’s more a problem with the bigger RVs but it can be a problem across the board. I’d buy used and inspect it well. You’ll save a ton of money.

That’s my plan.
